HI! – I would firstly just like to say how HAPPY Bollywoodman is today!

Any way, back to my review on the film Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye.

Let me set the scene up for you:

I was just merely walking in Colchester’s Woolworth’s, when I saw a yellow DVD. I picked it up, and I was blown to the floor to see that it was an Indian film! – WOW!! – I was so chuffed, because I didn’t have to go and order it from V.Shop, any way, I brought it home, and started to watch . . . . .

Quick Facts:

-Directed – K Murali Mohan Rao

-Producer – Narendra Rajaj

-Music – Himesh Reshammiya

-Lyrics – Sudhakar Sharma & Rajesh Malik

Plot:

The opening scene of the film is of a silent hall with quite a few hundred people. We then hear these two old men; think they are funny going on about pure rubbish! Next, (which is typical in a Bollywood film) we hear a “nice” (to an extent) song! Ok cool, I thought! We learn that this singer is called Prem – (Salman Khan) and he plays (with his guitar!) at other peoples weddings. He dreams for when he has the chance to play at his own (awww – NOT!)

Prem is in love with Nisha (Ravs) – yeah I don’t know what her names about either! – Anyway, Prem thinks that Nisha is deeply in love with him and nothing can come between them! – But of course he’s wrong!

Nisha’s brother is terminally ill will cancer, and being poor cannot afford to pay for his treatment! – So she tells Prem that she can’t marry him, because she needs money to help her brother (fair enough!) Instead of marrying Prem, she will marry Rahul (Inder Kumar) who’s a doctor! Prem now single decides to go on the pull with a bottle of whiskey! – There must be about 6 scenes of Prem getting drunk, and it adds to the boring factor of this film!

Everything looks so black for Prem, until he meets Priya (Rani Mukherjee) unknown to Prem, Priya is meant to marry Rahul. (BUT wait a second, isn’t her meant to be marring Nisha – now you can see why thins is a stupid film!)

Prem and Priya start to fall in love! And when Prem finds out that Priya is going to get married to the same person Nisha left him for, he is utterly ripped into pieces, and scattered on the floor to crocodiles to eat (sorry got a bit carried away!)

Any way, he and his sister and brother-in law, sings at their engagement party! Prem with his guitar (his only love) sing a “sad” song, for Priya!

And the film all ends on a plane. Priya and Rahul are about to go off to get married (but wait a second#2 – what’s happened to Nisha???) and Prem comes from no where, and starts singing, and Priya runs to Prem, hands open (and of course with the blessing of her ex-husband to be!)

Then the most stupid thing can EVER happen! – Nisha reappears and holds Rahul hand, now they are going to get married! (WHAT????) – I don’t get it either!

And that’s the BORING story of Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye – I bet all you budding Bollywood fans are going to go and buy this film straight after, you’ve read the review aren’t you? * Cough cough

Front cover:

I looked at the DVD front cover, and said oh wow! – It had Rani Mukherjee in a nice sari, and I thought, that she was going to look nice in that, can’t wait to see it in the film, guess what you don’t actually see her wearing it!!!!

Blurb:

This is what it says at the back of the film . . “They say marriages are made in heaven but the boy and girl meet here on earth.

If so happens that you love somebody but you get married to somebody else – why? . . . because marriages are made in heaven.”

What is this going on about?? – Marriages made in heaven?!?!

Aeroplane Scene:

Now this did me laugh, not because what they were saying. It was like nobody had been inside any aeroplane before! – It was massive, just like a massive hotel room!!!

Songs:

I have to say, the songs are RUBBISH, just like the film itself! – Pure and simple! If somebody tries to make you buy the soundtrack please don’t!!!

Stars:

Salman Khan – what a rubbish performance! – That’s all I really can say! – It made me sick! (Sorry all you Salman Khan lovers!)

Rani Mukherjee – A bit better that Salman, but not a lot! – One of her films, that won’t go down in the “Best of Bollywood Film” books!

Price

VHS - £10.00

DVD - £22.00

Released date: November 2000

My personal op:

This has to be the WORST Bollywood film, I have ever seen! – It is utterly RUBBISH! – I’m sorry for those who actually enjoyed this film, but trust Bollywoodman, DON’T waste your money on this boring film! – That’s the honest truth!
