Villages affected by climate change and scanty rainfall has lead to the suicides of scores of farmers across India and possibly the world. This movie deals with one such event of a blind farmer in a village in India who strikes a deal with a debt recovery agent to save his son from a debt trap. Gunu Baba(Ranvir Sheorey) is like the harbinger of death whenever he descends on the village of Mahua for loan recovery from the depressed and helpless farmers because invariably, someone commits suicide after he fails to repay the loan. For this reason they call him'Yamdoot'. A blind farmer, Hedu(Sanjay Mishra) knows that his own son Mukund(Bhupesh Singh) owes a considerable amount to the lender. He realises that one day he too might fall to the agent's machinations and take his life. So he hatches a plot to waive off the loan. Whenever he knows that some of his fellow farmers have come across some money, he would inform Gunu of the same. This way he knows when exactly to approach them for the recovery. This is a tough choice for Hedu but with failure of crops looming, morals can be put on hold for survival. Brilliant performances from Sanjay Mishra and Ranvir Sheorey keeps you engrossed till the very end. Directed by Nila Madhab Panda, the movie is 1 Hr. 35 min. long. Definitely a must watch.
