The heading that I gave mostly summarizes what I felt about the movie. The theme is supefluous at best.Karan Johar hasn't grown out of ''Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai'', which is very evident in the refrain from ''KKHH'' being part of the movie sound track. Even the character of the Sikh Child who didn't speak much ''KKHH'' is drawn upon again. Pretty jarring and crass this.The characters specially the one played by Kareena lack depth. Moreover, the director doesnot seem to understand the sanctity of our national anthem. Cheap popularity gimmicks at best.
So does the movie have any merits at all? Yes. Two major ones being Amitabh and Jaya Bacchhan. Both the actors come real and strong. Truly Amitabh is the star of the millenium equally matched in grace by Jaya.
The editing is tight and the music is good too. On the whole--ok for a dekko!!
