The beauty of KANK rests in its simplicity and what all good movies rely on, great writing and great performances from the lead characters[SRK ,Rani ,Preity]. In this case, the chemistry between SRK and Rani is undeniable
The film delivers a loud and bold message in the most humble, sensitive and sincere format that one can't help but watch this masterpiece for any number of times. Karan Johar's narrative style deserves a special mention.
Only two normal people who stumble on one another in a station and discover that they have more things in common,then meets the eye.So they started to see each other once a week,but their love are doomed,because they are both married and have very good lives.. It ends poignantly, as both parties realise that their feelings have been overshadowed by the social impossibility of their situation.
What an incredibly brave and honest look at relationships. I've have never seen a film so precisely and brilliantly capture this kind of emotion and transfer it to the screen the way Kabhi Alvida does.
The absolute beauty of it lies in its perfection as a simple love story - of two lives suddenly thrown together in the midst of reality, and the ensuing of simple love that follows. Every individual at some time in life dreams of the connection that is portrayed in this film between SRK and Rani, and few ever find it. 'KANK simply and elegantly demonstrates how the most fundamental passions of human emotion can envelope two complete strangers. The beauty of this film is that the story is the most important element. The ending is both provocative and emotional - as the story closes on these two characters
A great example of how important casting is. Although SRK plays his part well, it's possible to see another equally talented actor in his part. But it's very difficult to believe that any other actress but Rani could have made her character so believable and likeable and deserving of our sympathy for the situation she finds herself in.
These two characters and the actors that portray them are ideally suited to the script and film. They're both pretty reserved, shy and respect the contract of marriage, but something brings them together.
Amitabh spells disaster .Its high time he should retire!Abhishek is no star material and it shows throughout the film .Preity Zinta does her role with dignity.
