Jyotisar is a town on the Kurukshetra-Pehowa road, in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana,
Mahabharata battle started from Jyotisar where on the eve of the battle deluded Arjuna received the eternal message of Gita from its propounder Lord Krishna.
King of Kashmir constructed one Shiva temple at the tirtha place. Hundreds of years ago, a holy water tank was present in the temple and it can still be seen in the rainy season.
A light and music show depicting the details of Mahabharat is organized by the tourism department at this place regularly. The off shoot of the banyan tree under which Lord Krishna is believed to have delivered the Gita is rooted here, and close by is a marble sculpture that has immortalised this dialogue and the milieu. During solar and lunar eclipses place is auspicious for holy dips in the Brahma Sarovar .
