Jhankar Beats was released in 2003.It was directed by Sujoy Ghosh.He has directed other movies as well like home delivery and Aladdin. But according to me Jhankar Beats is the best among his direction camp.
The movie is all about friendship, achiving your dreams, handling relationships and last but not the least love for music.
The movie starts with a song where Deep and Rishi are singing in a pub where contest-"Jhankar Beats " is going on for the best band.But they lose out.They are upset but again with new dtermination they plan to take part next year and win the title of "Jhankar Beats ".
Then slowly all characrters are intorduced.Shanti(Juhi) Deep's wife is pregnant and she calls her mother(Shasikala) to take care of their daughter Muskaan.
Shanti is a typical housewife, sweet natured caring loving wife.
Nikki(Rinky) and Rishi are fighting for their divorce.Their issue is that they are not ready to compromise and always think its other partner's fault. Shanti wants Nikki and rishi to sought out differences and patch up.She always tries to bring them together. Deep and Rishi work together in an advertising company.
Their boss had given them a target to create an add for their upcoming product a condom company. As usual they are not able to finish it since they were concentrating on their own music contest.Their boss gives them one final chance to come up with an amazing idea.
In the mean time they meet Neel (Shyam Munshi) whose the son of their boss, just returned from US. Even he's interested in music, he plays guitar. Neel like preeti(Riya Sen) but is hesitant to tell her. And his dad has given him warning to tell him if he has a girl in his mind or marry the girl which they(parents) select.
So finally a team is formed for their band Deep-vocalist, Rishi-drums, Neel-guitarist.They start practicing for their big event as well as work on they project. How they success in their work, how they become friends for life, does neel proposes to preeti, do rishi and nikki get divorced?

The songs in the movie are really good.My fav songs would be : Tu aashiqui hai, Humein Tumse pyaar kitna, Tera Muskurana and Ruk Ruk Ruknana..
