I am Puneet Bansal and I bought Jeep Compass from Landmark Jeep from their “Mohan cooperative showroom “. I got the delivery on 25th August. My point of contact was Mr Joy and Mr Jwala. Since then, I have faced lot of problem and issues not only with their day to day dealing/service but with the product as well.


Problem with service:


1) The Car was handed to me without doing the Temporary Registration: I was called for taking the delivery by saying that all the necessary paper work has been done and then at the last minute of giving the delivery they told that TR is not done. Mr Joy assured me that its perfectly fine. However, when I spoke with my lawyer then I got to know that giving the vehicle for delivery without TR is a legal crime and is punishable act under Indian law: I have to chase Joy/Jwala to get the TR next done


2) In first week of September, I called Jwala to know about the status of Permanent registration. He told that it will take 1.5-2 months for that to be done in Gurgaon RTO as that’s the usual time that is taken. I confronted by saying that TR is only valid for 1 months for which he said that he will get it extended. I was totally amused by his non-sensible information that he was providing thinking I am usual run of the mill client. I spoke to Joy post that and he told me that I will get the PR number within 2 weeks


3) I provided all the required documents along with Rent agreement to Mr Joy in advance( Gas Bill, Electricity bill, Aadhar card or owner and my Id’s): I have all the communication saved with me so I can provide the evidence of same whenever/wherever its required. Mr Joy told me that RENT AGREEMENT IS NOT VALID. I checked with the RTO website and it’s a blatant lie that RTO-Gurgaon require/accept only those documents(Aadhar, Passport, Voter card etc) which has a Haryana Address and rent agreement is insufficient. It’s hilarious as RTO-Gurgaon even accept “Certificate issued by the Hostel Wardens in case of students residing in Hostels” as a address proof. Please see the link below. Landmark Jeep took from me additional 11, 170 INR for getting the registration done even when I had sufficient and all document. On top of that Joy had audacity to tell me that this is how things move in the corrupt offices like RTO-Gurgaon.

4) Joy mentioned in the call that as per Honoury Supreme Court of India, any manufacturer registered with SIAM cannot charge the logistic charges . However, Landmark Jeep renamed those logistic charges as the Registration handling charges( as mentioned in the attachment provided by Landmark Jeep). So, in that condition:


a.Either LANDMARK charged me 21, 170 INR additional to get the registration done. Over and above of RTO tax of 1.4 Lakh that iss paid at RTO-Gurgaon or


bThey charged 10, 000 INR against the handling charges which is against the law


5)They charged me 81 K for the car insurance but when I FIGURED OUT THEY HAD decreased the insured value of my Car. At the time of booking Jwala told me that I will have to pay 81 K against the total landing cost of my compass( Ex Showroom+ Insurance+ RTO tax etc) but in reality the car was insured for 16.75 L. I would have got this IDV value insured at much cheaper price.


Problem with the car: FIAT, the parent company has miserable run in India the main reason for that is their pathetic product line up. They even could not maintain the product quality with the Jeep. First Made-in-India Jeep Compass at Fiat's Ranjangaon plant is not upto the global standards. The product has its own share of problem. Please find below some of the issues which I faced within 20 days of delivery:


1)Within 2 weeks of usage, there is warning sign that is showing for the “LOW FLUID IN WINDSHIELD WASHER”. My usage of this fluid has been minimalistic but I was aghast to see this warning sign as I know that washer fluid capacity of Jeep compass in US is more than half gallons in US. That means, PDA has not been done thoroughly.


2)Opening of driver side door gives some clingy sound. As if some joints are not sliding perfectly or hinges are loose: Again PDA issue.


3)Putting the car in second gear gives a noise under the hood which is clearly audible in the driver compartment as if some moving parts in the gear system are not perfectly aligned: I am not sure if I ever heard that in US when I was driving the Compass there.


4)Shifting gears is not smooth the way it should be. There is definitely some problem in GEAR SYSTEM


5)A move over the small bump/speed breaker at speed of around 5-10 miles/hour again gives some sharp noise under the hood


I have travelled across world and have been owner of different brands in multiple geographies. I never knew that a brand like FCA can give such a bad service/product in India. They have not learnt from their failure. I even contacted the senior people in FCA and still, what I got were false promises and nothing more.
