At the time of going to this place, it took us a while to figure out where it is exactly! The restaurant seemed to be camouflaging itself, like the stairs and doors in Hogwarts Castle, where Harry Potter studies. Located in Versova, just before Yari road, be on a look out for this one coz if you miss it, then there is a huge detour that you will need to take!
Looking at the image you will know what the entrance looks like. The exterior makes up for all the trouble we had to go through to find the place. There is a huge wooden door, with a huge blue wall next to it. It really pleases the eyes! I went in and BOOM! I feel in love with the place! It is so beautifully done up!(the second image too, should give you an idea)! There is a huge bar table, with nice high chairs that are pretty comfortable to sit in. Then there are two- three couches for larger groups etc.
It was the place upstairs that fascinated me the most and that was where I wanted to sit. While you go up the stairs, there is a shelf with some of the best and classic books and comics like Archies, Tinkles and Tin-Tin. Pick anyone and enjoy reading while you are seated and waiting for a waiter to take your order, or for your order to arrive. There is another area, like a terrace which you can opt for, as that is marked for smokers.
I was highly recommended the Mushroom Popcorn by friends who have been here and I readily ordered one for myself and my boyfriend. This comes with two sauces- chipotle and Honey and wow, was it delicious! It was served extremely hot and I think you should let it cool a bit before digging in. The sauces compliment the popcorn really nicely! You could also choose Chicken Popcorn, as that too is exquisite.
As me and my boyfriend were in the mood to drink, we ordered more of these popcorn thingys and enjoyed them with chilled beer. Next we called for a Margarita Pizza and well, it was nothing heavenly or anything, but just pretty ok. I was also in the mood for some pasta so I called for an Aglio Olio Pasta, with Chicken and that tasted YUM!
One must try here is the Flower Pot Surprise! It comes with brownie, marshmallow and some crushed oreo biscuits. It looked really cute and also tasted pretty good.
I would definitely recommend you to try out Jamjar Diner at least once. Do go and enjoy the awesome ambiance and the food!:)
