We have by design, much to our avoidable disappointment, have dropped in to this joint for a lunch. Let me sum up the experience across the touch points:
Ambiance: it's dank n dingy environment suffused with dark colors; least of attention in providing color coordinated cutlery. Somehow someone seems to have decided to provide some cutlery for the consumer
Seating: its painful; the chairs are not at all ergonomical
Music: thank God, its just OK.
Menu Card: crumpled one; no one seems to have bothered about this menu card which gets picked up by any discerning consumer
Menu: the only thing that is exciting is the names of the dishes; definitely yes.
Service: Offish; just pathetic.
We have ordered starters, coconut water, main dishes and even contemplating to go in for some curd rice and desserts later on...
We have been served the starters, albeit after sufficient wait( not much rush anyway during 2:00 pm). Then comes the shocker. After waiting for about an 30-45min after the starters same wait staff who have taken our full order comes and enquiries if we need anything else!!! On the other hand we are waiting for the main dishes to be served. Then after raising the flag, someone informs that main dishes would be served within 2minutes...well ...meaning immediately...but we didnt have the opportunity to receive them despite our reminders and wait for another 15minutes.
Then the supervisor comes in diffuse the situation.....expresses that "perhaps we would have been at fault" etc....and tries to serve the stuff that is made up then...
We have requested them to provide the bills for the starters cum coconut water. We paid up and asked him to cancel the so called main dishes.
Quality of Food: Peanut cum panneer roll: is hot n crisp; but absolutely bland. Rasam Vada: pepper rasam definitely lacks the zing; vada is a lump of flour with full rubbery texture which did not even absorb any iota of Rasam for any one to relish the dish. Now the real mockery...the so called invitingly named cooler: Vasantha Neeru: coconut water supposed to be suffused with a hint of saffron and tender coconut water. But alas, its pure sugary water. There is neither a swish of saffron nor the tender coconut water even remotely....just plain rip off...
Accompaniments: the salad that is normally served in any good north Indian restaurant: ie plate of fresh onions and chillies: is placed on some weird heavy stand right at the onset of starters itself; which should have been offered with the main dishes. Onions are neither fresh nor are they presentable.
The solace is that the wait staff do fill in the water without being prompted ; but clearing up the cutlery on the table: is big painful slow process which needs prodding...
Price Value Proposition: inherent rip off
Do I recommend: definitely not to a joint that cannot even know that a consumer has ordered full course and consumer need to prompt the wait staff for the simple dishes such as Neer Dosa and Kal Dosa after 45minutes of waiting!!!
Absolutely an avoidable lousy experience: which we dont wish to experience...
