Jageshwar Mandir is located at 36km from Almora in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The temple is located an altitude of 1870mts in the Jataganga valley. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ancient temple is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and is a cluster of many temples made of stones. The Mrityunjaya temple, the Dandeshwar Shiv temple, the Surya temple, the Jageshwar temple are some of the few names I remember There is also a Kuber temple and Brahama Kund nearby.
The temple is located at a beautiful, serene and peaceful location between the deodar forests and a stream of river flowing on one side. The place makes you fell in love with it at the first sight.
People visit the temple throughout the year specially in the Hindu month of Savan and for the Maha Shivratri.
Jageshwar is connected to road by Almora(35km), Haldwani( 131km) and Pitthoragarh(88km) The nearest Railway station is Kathgodam at125km. You can take a cab and reach this place. It is a beautiful road trip from Almora to Jageshwar with greenery on both the sides and a refreshing breeze blowing. You will really have a wonderful experience travelling to the Jageshwar Dman.
