2017 has not been a kind year for Bollywood. With Bollywood biggies like Salman and Ranbir failing to enthrall the audience, all eyes were pinned on the much-awaited romance Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Like all Imtiaz all love stories, Harry Met Sejal celebrates the contemporary form of love. Harry, a young Casanova type tourist guide is stuck with a typical Gujarati lawyer girl Sejal.Sejal loses her ring in Amsterdam and comes back to find it.
Harry is dragged in the quest involuntarily and their journey begins.
The idea of traveling the whole of Europe to look for a ring seems a bit too far-fetched but it's Bollywood and anything is possible, right? Anushka's quirky Gujarati dialogue delivery and camaraderie with Shahrukh Khan makes the idea digestible but not entirely. While the first half gets the hope high, the second half succumbs to the brand of cliches and predictable turn of events.
On the musical front, Pritam has done a commendable job. The songs are soulful and have a Sufi touch to them
To be very honest, I didn't have big expectations from the movie and maybe that's the reason I didn't watch it from a critique's point of view. However, I am very sure of one of thing. If you're an SRK fan, you'll be swooned by this performance. He is still the king of romance and JHMS is proof of it. All hail king Khan!
