If we want to book a ticket with Indian railways from our home, the one and only option for us is to book from its website run by IRCTC. Unfortunately, this is the worst way to book a ticket. The user is always facing problems like, slow speed, server errors, website breakdown under heavy traffic in the early hours.
Though IRCTC connect app was a good start but it has many problems like
Though we can log into the app using our existing IRCTC account or create a new one but if suppose we forget our password, then we will have to again go to the website again because in the app there is no way to regain the password in the app.
Another problem is that when we are logged in and if we want to go to our booking history. Though there is a section called "Booking History", but it hasn't been synchronized with the main website. So in that case our travel history will not show on the application. The same thing goes with the "Cancel Ticket" and "My Bookings". It won't show any details under any of the said sections untill we have booked a ticket from the app.
We cannot book a ticket from the app between 8am and 12pm
