If you want to enjoy your movie watching session thoroughly, but want to avoid the crowd and skyrocketing price of tickets, Inox is the ultimate destination for you. I have visited Inox,Garuda Mall before also.So this weekend when I had to select a theater to watch Haunted 3D,I zeroed down at Inox. The main reason is actually the ticket price,it is lower compared to the PVR cinemas. So we decided to travel a little than wasting almost double on these tickets.
We booked the tickets through bookmyshow.com to avoid the weekend crowd. With tax,it suited our pockets, plus we got the seats of our choice without the rush at last minute. On the day,we reached Garuda Mall one hour before, the show was about to begin at 1 pm. We collected the tickets from the pickup machines, then had our lunch in the nearby food-court to kill some time. We entered the Inox complex at 12:40 pm after the baggage frisking and proceeded towards the 3D glass dispensing table. Well,we had to wait for another 10 minutes. Luckily we stood at the beginning of the queue,so got the glasses soon. It was almost 1,but due to the maintenance work the door was still not opened. Finally the cleaning team came out around 1:05 and the crowd flooded into the theater. At this point you just can't help getting a mild nudge on your rib-cage or a hard push from behind. It seems a lady just scratched me to find her way! Well, all these are common yaar, I'm not complaining!
It was easy to find out seats, which somebody else already occupied! After they found their own seats as we requested humbly,we adjusted ourselves well. The movie began after few ads. Wow,the surrounding sound quality was really awesome. It was a horror movie, without proper sound system the spooky effects would be missing. But there was no reason to be disappointed. It scared the hell out of us! The picture quality is good too, even the 3D effects were really outstanding. But one thing I noticed which was quite disturbing. The lights in the theater was still on when the movie began. A 3D film can't be enjoyed if there is not total darkness, don't they understand that?
During interval I found that there is a nail-mark on my 3D glass for which I am getting some difficulty from the beginning, to watch the movie properly. But,it was too late, now we could not change the glass. Why do people touch the glass like that? I don't have the answer, anyway. The interval was short,so we remained tin our place. The second half went well..........the movie had unexpected twists which we enjoyed very much. People started streaming out even before the movie was over,we had no choice but to follow them. Overall the experience was nice.
Few things which I liked about the theater:
Picture quality was good, our seats enabled us to enjoy it thoroughly.
Surrounding sound system was just perfect, not too loud, not to low. Just perfect to give the effects of a horror film.
Comfortable push-back seats,without bugs.
Clean and non-smelling ambiance.
Enough leg space to relax. When others are entering the row, they will not get obstructed by already-seated people's limbs!
Check-in systems is fast, so the ticket pick up service.
Wide entry and exit gates,to avoid unnecessary jostles.
Things which they can improve:
Last minute rush due to prolonged maintenance work.
Weird lighting in washrooms,a simple CFL bulb would do better, other than those weird colored tubes.
The 3D glasses are sometimes damaged by people who used those previously. So please check before they are distributed again,it affects the viewing quality.
Price of the snacks and drinks available is really exorbitant. Outside food is not allowed, then no options left! Some kind of side business, huh?
My overall experience is good,I would rate it as 3.5 out of 5. Some noisy viewers interrupted us and other viewers as well, throughout the session with their loud and stupid comments, which nobody can help. For this nuisance I can't rate it as 4. After visiting this place,I am satisfied, and planning to watch my next 3D film here only. The sound system is damn good yaar!
