I took admission in Inlingua, Gurgaon to study French and everything was going quite well. Since I'm a working professional I had to take a few days off to go abroad. Of course I informed the faculty before going. When I came back and rejoined I was surprised at being told that I could no longer attend classes because I had missed 4/5 classes and that they would certainly accommodate me in the next batch. Normally shortage of attendance would mean that I cannot take exams, but nowhere does any other institute bar you from continuing classes. However, even that was ok, I agreed to complete my remaining classes with the next batch.
To my utter surprise every time I called them to find when the next batch would start, they would tell me that it has not yet commenced- It has been two years and I came to know from others that batches have been starting quite regularly!!!! What could they gain out of not letting me continue the classes is anybody's guess. I daresay that I was also ahead of the classmates in my batch and would have easily caught on had they allowed me to continue...I asked them to return my money for attended classes, which of course they would not. I would never recommend Inlingua to anyone who is serious on learning a language- go to the embassy sponsored Institutes or to JNU where the language courses are much better.
I myself would have learnt French from Alliance Francaise had it not been for the distance from Gurgaon and the terrible traffic. Inlingua is a big no-no.
