I am going to have to big celebrations soon. I thought I would go to the liquor store to see what type of wine I could buy.I decided I was going to buy a white wine because I could keep it in my refrigerator. As soon as I saw Inglenook's White Zinfandel made in 2005, I knew that was the bottle I was going to buy.

Because the 20 Top Wine Brands Voted By Restaurants In The USA picked it as number 5 of a list of 20 wines.

The History:

The grapes vines came from Southern Italy and they now grow them in Napa Valley California.

The Inglenook Winery produces their wines in Rutherford, California in the (Napa Valley). The winery was founded in 1879 by a Finnish Sea Captain Gustave Niebaum and was recently acquired by Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola has renamed the winery Rubicon Estate Winery.

The Wine:

I knew I could keep any wine for longer than 6 months or it will turn sour.

The top doesn't have a cork so all I will have to do is screw off the top.

The bottle is not clear and I was lucky that the store I go to lets people taste the wine for free as long as you buy a bottle. If you don't they charge you $1.00.

They had a basket of bread and I used it to cleanse my pallet. They poured the wine and I held it up to the light to make sure it was clear and had no residue in it. I took a sip and swished the wine back and forth as I counted, (to know how dry it was). Then I spit the sip out in a bowl. This is a blush wine because it has been blended with other grapes, (87% White Zinfandel and 13% Muscat).

When they opened the bottle I could smell strawberries, peaches, rose petals, guava and tangerine.  When I read the label I found that is made with grape's zest, spiced pepper, raspberry, cherry, wild berry, plum flavors.

Then they add tar, earth & leather notes, mild tannins and oak shadings. That means it was aged in an oak barrel.

It is full bodied and had an intense flavored. I found it to be a well balance wine that tasted a bit like champaign.

I paid $7.00 CAD, (plus tax), for 1.5 liters.

When I open The Wine:

I will keep it chilled until it's time to open it. Then I will pour a half a glass into both of our glasses.

Then we will congratulate each other on....stayed tuned for 10 more days.!

Did You Know:

My husband and I only drink on special occasions. We will only be drinking the one ½ glass and then I'll use the rest to cook with.

Please never ever drink and drive.
