How to deal with mediocrity in modern private sector corporations.




  1. Keep a detailed record of your day to day activities.




  2. Ideally maintain a excel sheet linking the event, time, date. to the actual description of the event in MS-Word.




  3. Always retain names, designation & pictures of key people who are a cause for concern even when they are operate behind the scene and seldom get their hands dirty.




  4. Use words like malpractice, cooking of books, nepotism, skulduggery, red tapism, witch hunting, corporate social responsibility, illegal trade/hr practises, sexual harassment, bluster, syndicate, psychological warfare, mediocrity, torture and more when you try to nail the offender and when you classify/index the contents of your write-up.




  5. Websites like consumercomplaints.com, mouthshut.com, complaintboard.com and others will come handy. Always post pictures, videos of the offender/culprit. You are advised to use blogspot or other free blogging websites to post the pictures of the culprit and add links to your blogs in your write-up that you post here or else-where.




  6. Try to corner the leader/leaders socially, it works. If there is no truth, it will not affect the concerned person. However, if there is truth, such a person cannot escape being noticed & ostracised socially and finally being cornered professionally as excess/inconvenient baggage.




  7. Managers have a tough skin. However, even the toughest matter is prone to wear and tear. Persistence & iteration will work eventually. Only those leaders who actually are on sound ethical and moral ground will be able to resist such a honest and straightforward onslaught. There is no need to get demoralised as long as you are 100% on the right side of ethics & morality.




  8. A company is a separate legal entity and treated as a separate person in the court of law. However, it is the people who run the company who are responsible for the conduct of it's day to activities and the road that the company takes in discharging its duties as a corporate citizen or meeting it's corporate social responsibility obligations.




  9. There is a fundamental flaw in the approach that the law takes in catching up and punishing the wrong doers. Actually law and right to private property is skewed in favor of the wrong doers.

  11. Top level people are answerable to shareholders and media. However the questions they have to deal with are generally is more formal, focussed around financials of their company or marketting plans.

  13. As profitability is most pertinent middle level managers, supervisors and other are given lot of leeway to keep the business profitable and also hush-up plenty of concerns or negatives.




  14. It is only natural that under such a circumstance they will try to strengthen the foundation of their existence by becoming a bully or indulging in dirty political games and or, mediocrity.




  15. I recommend that everyone responsible to milk others should have their profile over Wikipedia or a forum like that and have to accept the life of a public figure.




  16. Styles, mannerism, knowledge, strengths, weakness, idiosyncrasies, business model, project details and deepest possible secrets must be unearthed by the employees, as that is the best insurance policy to cover one's own posterior & bring about a social change.




  17. Do not wait for things to get intolerably worse. Rather speak-up proactively & before things go wrong.




  18. Every company deservers to prove everyday that it has hard earned/ deserves all that it has earned.




  19. The ownership of the organisation is rarely a problem if all the supervisors and middle managers are made answerable and tried day-in & day-out. If they cannot take the heat they need to get out of the kitchen, period.

  21. There are devices available in the grey market or flea market like a pen that has a hidden camera that can record up to 2 GB of video files. Always add them to youtube. Do not forget to tap into Wikipedia, wordpress and others. Even mouthshut.com allows uploading two images of up to 5 MB each.




  22. As far as writing about your colleagues or supervisors is concerned everyone wants the other person take the lead. However, that never really happens. Simply post a lot of data and give a personalized or third person account of a lot of people. This will make everyone a suspect, even those who never tried any of this online. This is the most safest strategy.




  23. No business idea deserves to be under wraps or a secret permanently. Free market, competition & sunlight/transparency are the best disinfectants. However, if one of them is missing or inadequate the balance is lost and mediocrity gets the fertile breeding ground that it needs to thrive.




  24. Being a employee you can make public the SWOT of your business. You already have the business assured for the term of the contract. It is only in the interest of transparency and best practises to make a tabular disclosure and even update Wikipedia on your company's business. It is fairly simple and straightforward to create a Wikipedia account, edit & update the information available in public domain. The problem is that most individuals are too lethargic to take this initiative.
