My brother underwent kidney transplant as a donor .. he was denied blanket for 2.30 hrs in the middle of 2nd night as the nurse couldn't manage one. 19.4.13...some doctors maybe good but the staff is a mixed bag. You need to have luck to get good people around your patient..
My patient cannot get a blanket and when enquired the attendant nurse blabbered housekeeping, we know reason that why house staff could not get one..and much of the staff shamelessly sleep.. one I see sleeping on patient attendants couch..
So before you choose this hospital visit the ICU loby (waiting area) and spend some time there...when we make choice the ugly side is always hidden..I suggest before taking this chance no harm in asking the consultant, will he be able to influence the staff care?
