Having returned from outside the country after a long long time, this place felt great. had been hearing about this place for a while and finally made it for a sunday brunch. That is what they are known for.
priced at Rs 650/Rs750(for nonalcoholic/alcoholic) for a brunch which goes with forms of spirit lifting alochol (bubblies mostly) or fresh juices, the antipasta bar, the main entree, the desserts and endless coffee/tea - what more could you ask for. Felt, this was a fab place to lazily spend most of your Sunday afternoon - there is some amount of live music which is not unpleasant.
However, once in a while you find these one off boisterous groups who are rather noisy and make the place a bit less hospitable. The place seems to be visited more by the 'intellectual' and rich varieties. However, given with our desi traditions, money and that show of intelligence does not turn one into a person with sense. So you would find the foo foo variety and twiggling their fingers to shake the ash off their cigarettes on to the floor too.
Back to food: the anti pasta bar is great. The hummus seemed ersatz and the tapas were small and too crisp and hard. the salads were good, there was a bowl of olives which was fab, there were varieties of meat, some fish and also some duck liver (on the way fo fois gras?)...
in desserts: the Tiramisu was completely hopeless, but the creme broule was very good. I asked for a double shot of espresso and can say without a second thought, have not had an espresso that good in Mumbai.
bottomline: go visit the place, spend your sunday afternoon there. You will come back a happy soul.
overall great place - visit it.
