Title : Indian Idol- Lot of gas
Review : When Sony announced Indian Idol, I had high hopes of getting a chance to listen to future Lata Mangeshkar or Rafi & if not at least budding Anuradha Paudwal or Sonu Nigam. Added to it was the fact that the program was by none other than by ''SONY'', VERY VERY RESPECTED NAME IN THE SOUND INDUSTRY.
What was seen in practice was a sheer waste of everybody's time like watching test match of India Vs Australia. The quality of singing was far below seen on Sa rega ma pa or another program seen earlier on alpha TV for marathi songs.
There should have been some filter in the initial selection stage so that viewers could have listened to at least bearable music. Plenty of time was wasted on talking to contestants & showing their antics. It was disgusting to wait in the shooooooooooooooooooort breaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak and be subjected to some mediocre stuff.
I hope that somebody from SONY reads this & save the viewers from the sentence of watching similar programs in future in the hope that at least one song will be good. I remember what one critic wrote about a movie called Ladki sahyadriki-- ''Plentiful of Ladki & spoonful of sahyadri''. we also see here lot of Ladkis & Ladkas but nobody to befit the high title of ''Indian Idol''.
Pros : comments by judges. Can see improvement in performance by singers
Cons: Still considerable Waste of time in Bla bla rather than songs. Elimination process by viewers is skewd. Wonder whether we will end up with one whom silent majority will not like to see as idol.
