Its exclusively my opinion-1st part. Review on India, General

I have not read anybodies opinion on it. Why? I know you all will echo, if not all, part of my feelings. I will then feel repetitive, which is a feeling that makes you lose the interest and then I dont want to have a consensus or influenced opinion. So lets get to what I have assimilated about my country.

my feelings for India

I will just ask some questions to myself and answer them.

1. Do I feel my country is great?

No

1. Do I feel it has potential?

yes

1. Can it become great?

yes

1. I will prefer to stay in India or in First world?

India

1. Why?

I belong to that country. I feel at home when I am there. There are many things which I do not like but there are more things which I do like.

That must give atleast some idea about my feelings for this country. Now lets see what is good and bad about this country.

Bad Things

1. Population....

Biggest flaw with our country. We do recognise it but have failed to realise the gravity of the problem. Our population growth rate is far higher than our economical growth rate. Thats the main reason of poverty. Government never care enough about it. It never has been an issue on the election manifesto. Majority of population in India is foolish to care about it. Ilitracy is one major reason, but due to fast population growth rate our resources are not adequate enough to educate them.

Solution: My feeling is that there is no democratic solution to this problem. One person in our political system did made a good effort in solving the problem but we voted her out of the politics (Indra Gandhi and her emergency). We have a problem, when some politician do

something good we follow the fools who just try to prove him wrong for there own benifit. Only way to stop population growth is to use power. More you will delay more intense will be the problem. Think, we are producing one Australia every year. How much pressure our natural

resources will be able to take? Delay the solution and you are pushing the country towards a civil war. More uneemloyment, more hunger, more crime and chaos.

1. Politics....

We have a quagmire of dirty politics and its rotting. More the time passes more dirty it will be. Every country has bad politics but in our country condition is getting worse day by day. Condition was not that bad always. We had one good person (atleast I feel so). I am talking of Rajeev Gandhi (I am not a congress man, I dislike congress, but just trying to point out few points which I feel are right). Rajeev did a couple of good things. He was the

first prime minister who looked good when he was standing with prime minister of USA or Soviet (former) or russia. After he dies, I do not see any potential candidate for the post. Congress is a bunch of fools and dirty politician. Soniya is no solution to the problem. She hardly knows about India. Rather then treating it as a family matter of Nehru family, we should find a good politician who has potential.

Solution: Difficult, I dont know what can be done. But one thing is sure, we should change our attittude. Like fools we have followed agenda like onion price. We neve rhave considered issues like good roads, water and electricity. An average Inidan still does not have beasic requirements like water and electricity. We need cleansing in politics which will not come over night, we need to bring people who are good. How? Try to support every good soul in

this dirt. Wait for a good candidate and this support him. I can not come up with more, so I am leaving this question to you people.

1. Education.........

It decides the future of any country. We need better education. believe it or not, but my personal feeling is that we have good basic education system but our higher education is going to hell. Main reason is the casual attitude we have for it. I am not in favour of

producing large number of graduates. quality of education is more important. Raising the cost of education is not a bad idea especially in science. The cost is more for all those technical advancements, so to keep up universities need more fund. But the problem arise when people do not allow to raise fees. I have seen university students wasting money in food joints, wasting money on all those valentine dates etc, but when it comes to raisinf fees by 100 rupees, they will make all hue and cry, although they waste this money for one time snacks. If some guy is poor, there should be scholarships for them. Now here the main

need is of honesty. Scholarship should reach the right person.

solution: Standard of education should be atleast comparable in all universities. Introducing private universities is not a bad idea. Government should take a liberal attidtude to improve the quality. Universities should be put to evaluation.I have seen many places where education is given a damn and people score good marks. we need a universal evaluation system like GRE in USA.

1. Corruption......

All of us know about it. Ther may not be any country, where this evil is not there. What's wrong with India then? The corruption at higher level is still ok, but the thing which freaks me out that is that it has reached almost every table in India and more to that people do not feel any longer that it is wrong. Anybody giving bribe is told to be responsible for it. But I feel a preson in need has to do it, its the other person who is asking for it, who should be blamed.Any person working in the office when does work, he behaves like he is doing a big favour to you and forgets that its his duty.

Solution: Privatisation may help in this direction. It may have its own flaws in long run but seems to be the only solution now. Our efforts can also help in it. The best thing, if atleast we can do our job honestly.

1. Cast and Religion...

Its not bad thing but politics has made it so. When ever there is a group of people, they will find way to divide themselves into smaller groups. Go anywhere you will find groups among people. India is a diverse country, more to it is democratic. We have been given freedom to do anything and follow any religion. I do not understand, how it can be wrong. The only problem is that people want you to be of there own kind and here starts the problem. Politics added to it, is like a mixture of carbon and sulphur.

Soultion:

Its taking care of itself at cast level. I have seen people going slow on cast. After this Mandal politics, things have flared upp a little but now again going ok. But religion is still a issue. I have seen it also to be mallowed down in new generation. (atleast somewhere we new genration are doing better.)

Overall India do have a history of attacks and slavery. they were independent before 12th century. after middleeast invasion we have been attacked and ruled by others. We have to accept the fact that our immediate history is fractured. Its all messed up. If we can accept it and stop bragging about being great in past and accept the problems that we have now, we can look forward to work on it and improve, may be slowly but gradually. We know task is enormous but someone has to start somewhere. Lets start with our self.

Enough of bad things I guess. I will right about good things in next part and may be also a little about India as a tourist place.
