Story:

It is a deepely explored and richly recorded history book of india. I was in the dark all these years about what happened after india gained its independaence. By reading this book, you can decide for yourself which point of view you shall consider to be true account of the events. India After Gandhi contains variety of voices checking various subjects from many viewpoints out. Guha has tried to look at both sides of the coin even with personalities like that of Jawahar Lal Nehru, M.K. Gandhi and Indira Gandhi. This book feels a little biased in favor of Congress and Marxist point of view. Here it feels Guha is idolising Nehru, but it is understandable as he himslef belongs to the same party. What was surprising was, there was very little mention of corruption present in india since independence. At times it seems like a purposeful publicity book for INC and for its glorification. I would have like it more creator has center more around the choices and strategies Nehru made then on his life.
