I was using outlook express prior to seeing the ad on Download Accelerator and downloading Incredible Mail which is a free download along with a letter designer (which comes with a 45 day trial offer).
Out went the unreliability of Outlook Express and in came the well crafted design templates of Incredi Mail, now whenever I have to design a new template I just use the letter creator and am able to design templates suiting my needs, the wallpapers and background can be changed to suit the formal or casual and even the odd smiley if you so desire to convey your mood.
Since I have been using this serive (free) I have had a lot of queries from clients as well as friends how do I do it, well its all well packaged and bundled into this very good and customizable software,
You can make use of different new mail notifications using animation and sound (a butler, dog, typed message and others), If you dislike them you have the option of shutting off animation to announce new mail.
Since I have started using it I haven't had a crash and lost a plethora of my important e-mails which used to happen quite frequently while I was using Outlook Express & Internet Explorer 6 (they both have compatibility issues so this is a much safer, smarter option to use.
I admit when there are a lot of incoming messages you will find it a bit slow to download all of them but once done it is very effective in it's use of filters and mailbox folder options unlike OE which can give you headaches trying to download e-mail from Multiple accounts and its set of message rules (which seldom do the job you think you've configured it to do).
Another option that you can use is to play sounds but if you don't like them shut it off (simple and easy to configure)
No longer do I have to use Power Point to make presentations and then send them as attachments with my e-mail, I can design them in Incredimail itself.
I for one am a happy user, and the graphic and skins are much better then the stark and boring Outlook Express, though it has all the functions that are part of OUTLOOK EXPRESS so if you are familiar wiith the use to OE then using Incredimail will be a lot easier for you.
Another option is the signature option whjerin using your mouse or if you have a PC PEN you can sign your own e-mail thus making it official too! (the mouse will give you uneven lines but perseverence and trail and error will eventually help you get it right).
In the long run if using for business or personal mails you can impress the receiver because your mail wil stand out when opened and definitely make you noticed.
If you want to buy the Letter Maker yuo can buy it for $19.45 but if you are smart you'll keep reloading it to make use of it forever or if you have a serial 2000 software which generates keys for software hack it from there.
The update e-mails are quite frequent and easy to install new features (you can shut it off if you don't want to receive any updates)
