You’d be forgiven for thinking this is some kind misunderstanding, but in fact it is true and I can vouch for it working correctly.

MEMBERSHIP

======

Membership is easy; simply enter you details (and if you are feeling very generous you could mention ‘dabmim’ as your referrer). Decided whether you wish to pay monthly by standing order or credit card or in deed yearly by either. The monthly cost is £15 the yearly is £130. However, I always prefer to pay in smaller amounts usually as I tend to err on cautious side.

Once enrolled as a member you now need to create a list of your favourite DVD’s. For membership you need to be a minimum of age 18, and a UK resident. You can have as many or as few DVD’s each month as you wish. You can only have three in your possession at one time. Should you wish to cancel, you need to write to the company (email) at least seven days BEFORE the day you wish to cancel. And minimum membership is three months. And remember w=if you do cancel it’s a good idea to cancel the standing order with your bank also.

YOUR LIST

=====

Your list has to be a minimum of at least five, and can be as long as fifty if you wish. Your list is a selection of the thousands of DVD’s available on the site, which in turn will be sent to your home for you to enjoy – for as long as you wish. Once you have returned one of you DVD’s (return them individually or collectively) you will then be sent the next one (or more to total three in your possession) on your list. Therefore it is a good idea to maintain your list quite regularly, to make sure you don’t run out of DVD’s for them to send.

WHAT DVD’s ARE AVAILABLE?

=====================

Well, they may not be the hot off the press ones, but there are a lot of good DVD’s to choose from. The DVD’s are categorised into sections, which include:

· Action

·

· Art house (?)

· Comedy

· Foreign language (why?)

· Horror

· Music

· Romance

· TV

· Thriller

· And more…

SO NOW I AM ENROLLED WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

===================================

I enrolled on a Saturday, and got my first three DVD’s on the following Tuesday. The DVD’s themselves were in a plastic case (for protection), then placed in a pre stamped padded envelope, and finally in a plastic sealed bag. You simply open the plastic bag by the ‘tear here’ strip (or rip it open as in my case). Watch the DVD at your leisure, and then pop into the padded envelope, seal and post. That easy! All postage is first class, and all DVD’s are in excellent condition, and well packaged.

THE SITE

====

The site has around 18 categories many of which I have listed above. Other things on the site include: NEW RELEASES (where they list the newbies they have got in their possession. FUTURE RELEASES; as you might expect all the exciting DVD’s to come listed (only two when I check it out). WATCH TRAILERS: A list of selected trailer that you view. COMPETITION: Answer the question – win a prize! EXCHANGE DVD’S: Any old DVD’s you may no longer want, can be advertised on their message board to exchange. If you want a particular DVD there is also a board to advertise for it. SUBMIT A FILM: If you are a British short filmmaker –you are invited to submit a film, which is then place on the site for World wide audience. CREW NEEDED: People advertising for all sorts of people, from actresses to props.

OVERALL

===

Overall I have been quite impressed by the service so far, though if this alters I will amend this opinion. If you watch a lot of DVD’s, then this one might just be for you. Movietrak charge a total of £3.49 for each film, which you can keep for a week. In-movies charge £15 a month for as many as you want, for as long as you want. Some might puzzle how can they-as indeed I did? I can’t answer that, but I do know that it works, and you do get your DVD’s through the post regularly, in accordance to your list. Oh and don’t forget, if you do join up dabmim was your referrer (I then get a free DVD (from a selected choice-which might be what I’ve seen before – but will be handy to give for prizes at school bazaars etc).
