I bought a IFB Senorita Plus WM six months back and life has never been the same again. I used to dread weekends when I had to wash my one week's soiled set of clothes, and boy was it a tiring and time consuming activity. I used to console myself by saying that it was the only physical activity I do, I mean washing the clothes my-self, by hand.
About Senorita Plus
IFB Senorita is very sleek and not bulky. It has got a very pleasant exterior and very well designed. The operations are not very complicated and you can perfect it after couple of tries.
IFB Senorita is a Front Loading washing machine, and it uses a Tumble action to clean the clothes which is supposedly more effective then the Agitator wash of conventional Top Loading washing machines. There are a variety of programs available to wash your Curtains to whites.
The capacity of the IFB Senorita is around 5 KG and its sufficient for me. I normally do one load if the clothes are less else go for 2 loads, never had more then that.
There are options for Spin and no Spin, if you would like extra water to rinse, its also possible, you have to just press a button. Temperature presets are available and can choose up to 60 Degrees for washing.
The Machine is not very noisy and only when the spin happens, ie to drain and dry the clothes, the noise is bit high else its a smooth operation. Hey, there is also a small tray like thing in the bottom of the machine which captures stuff like coins, pins etc that's found during washing.
After Sales & Others
In Chennai, the After Sales is handled by direct franchisees of IFB and they were always prompt. Unlike others, IFB requires some plumbing modification and its done by the Customer service guys. They will call you up and make an appointment and come and fix the plumbing and give you a demo as well.
You can use this opportunity to buy couple of essential accessories, like the stand with roller balls for easier movement around the house and the machine cover. (Considering the amount of Dust in Chennai, its a essential accessory). They have stuff for de-scaling the steel dump, which can accumulate the salts in the water if the water is saline. They have two variants, the permanent one which is fitted inside the machine, which de-scales during normal wash, and the external one, which you have to put in the drum and run a pre-wash program one in a month or so.
What I Feel
IFB Senorita gives me time to do other stuff instead of spending 1-2 hrs on washing, I can go to the gym and pump some iron instead. It also saves water cos the machine is tuned to conserve water. Conventional hand wash certainly results in more water consumption. I feel that it cleans the clothes better then me!!
IFB Senorita comes with a price tag of Rs 17,000(Approx) and its certainly worth it. The quality of the wash is pretty good. I don't know how much is the power consumption, but I guess it not very high. Over all, I had a very satisfying experience with IFB Senorita.
