Idea customer services are at it worst.


This is not first bad experience with Idea network. We faced major cyber issue with another idea Number(Then also pathetic idea customer support).


Hence wanted to convert other idea prepaid number to postpaid as Idea care representative said if we change it to postpaid it will act as new sim with same number which was big mistake we did.


First Visit -We did required procedure to convert prepaid to postpaid.They give us new sim and said sim will activate in 3 4 days.


We came home, checked sim packet, Sim card was not there.


Second Visit - We have to go to store again for sim. Lady in store(Customer representative) said "this could happen, nothing to worry about it. Just come after two days, after sim activated we will give you another sim. and have to fill a form."


We agreed and left.


Third Visit - At Idea store, gave another sim, filled form.


They told this sim will start in 4 5 hrs. it was Saturday.


We waited for 4 5 hrs, and tried to give a call to activate sim. But failed. It has not yet activated. waited for another day.


Still no luck.


Called customer care(as on Sunday store was closed).


Customer care guy first said "Sim card is activated, but there is no recharge on Number".


then I said "I have applied for prepaid to postpaid".


Then he said, "Madam, you have your sim has not yet transferred from prepaid to postpaid, you ask to idea store only".


Fourth visit - I had number of that customer care representative, meanwhile I tried to call him which he didn't pick(may be he was busy with customer) and message him. He replied to messages saying there is some issue.


So Again I had to go to store. There I spoke with Store manager.


He said " Technical issue with this number going on. we have raised ticket for issue."


they tried to connect number with another sim card, but it was showing some error.


He also said this kind of misplacing of sim card has never happened before(which was contradictory to what other lady from same store said).


Asked us to wait for a day, they were trying to solve this.


I asked them to better block this number as there were many issues. they said we cant block number as it is already in process and for three months we cant block this number. as it is postpaid number now.


I asked that I will not come here again, lets wait for another day, if its not working block that number and let me know.


That guy said if 30 days card is not used it will automatically gets block.


And we left.


Fifth Visit - same day, just when we reached home I got call from idea store saying " Mam, we found your misplaced card. and now I will activate card. Please come to take your card".


in next few minutes, I got call from my idea number( which was in process) from store, saying "mam, card has been activated, please come and collect it".


I reached. He gave card. I installed Vodafone app for checking other details. on app it was showing the activation date 3 days before. I asked them "how it can show this activation date, as we have activated it today?


And what if in between someone has used this card.


will there be any issue?


and what about billing? will it start from today or the activation date?"


Idea guy said " There no any issue, don't worry about sim. and billing will start from today only . When we were discussing about your misplaced sim, sweeper from store heard us and he found your sim.And we called you".


After this we left.


I hope there will not be any issue with sim card and number.


Idea store and customer care will never be in sync, store people will say one thing, customer care people will say another thing.


They will only blame each other and will not help us to solve problem.


If you are stuck in any serious issue related to mobile number never ever expect much from IDEA customer service.


Please don't go with Idea/vodafone network.
