IDEA has again proven that they are nothing but a bunch of Clowns.
Update 25 Jan
On 8 Jan, I get an SMS from IDEA:Thank you for using IDEA Cellular, pay your bill of 5xx.xx by 10.01.2010 to avoid late payment charges and break in service. Ignore if paid. (A veiled threat with an apology for an apology)
I paid my bill on 9 Jan.
On 9 Jan, I get an SMS from IDEA:Dear Subscriber, Thank you for making a payment of Rs. 6xx.xx which has been credited in your account. (A courtesy message, Kudos for that)
On 10 Jan, I get an SMS from IDEA:Thank you for using IDEA Cellular, pay your bill of 5xx.xx by 10.01.2010 to avoid late payment charges and break in service. Ignore if paid. (?)
Cellular services hinge very much on realtime data, I am not an IT guy; so cant figure out what is wrong, but one thing for sure - they are nothing but a bunch of CLOWNS.
============================================================Please beware of the following aspects of un-satisfactory international roaming service. 1. Non display of caller line identification. During my trips Jan 08 to Apr 09, there was proper Caller ID display while international roaming. Thus; could selectively choose which call to answer/ignore. However, since the last couple of months, there is no Caller ID display.(The IDEA shop also accepted this as a fact based on other costumer's feedback) However, the most outrageous part is that this time around, I am also charged for the calls that I did'nt answer. 2. De-activation of Int'l roaming - There is an option to login & de-activate from the web-site, which I do from the overseas airport itself even before taking flight to India. This time around, the website accepts the request and issues a ref number, however upon checking after a few days, the service is still active as per website and the same cycle is repeated - tantamount to being unnecessarily charged for intl roaming. 3. The website itself gives a horrible experience. Once logged in and selected a particular option, it takes a while to load the irrelevant advertisements and they says - please log-in. 4. The local signals are not good either. Lot of black-spots. I think it is time to move on.
