The bank's tag line describes it's service as help from friends. But the things are totally opposite once you visit and see the service and their work.


My father's savings account was in this bank. After his demise I went to bank to get his account closed. The following problems me and my family faced while getting the account closed.


Problems -




  1. The bank representatives give me the list of documents that will be required while closing the account and transferring of amount to my mother's bank. I was not informed which document to bring original and which to bring copy of.




  2. After collecting all documents I went back with my mother. The representative checked the documents and gave us a 3 page form to fill. After filling the form the representative told us to come back after 10 days and collect the DD. A lot of time taken to process.




  3. After 10 days we went and meet the representative and he told that he has misplaced my father's complete documents that we provided him so he cannot process the closing of account.




  4. This was infuriating and so we talked to the branch manager and it seems that manager didn't care. The representative was not held accountable for anything. Instead we had to bring documents again.




  5. This time they completed the process within an hour only. This shows that bank was just wasting our time for the previous 10 days.




  6. Apart from this incident, the bank representatives often hung up the call without giving proper details when some customer calls for some enquiry.




  7. Also, they sometimes assign the work to newbies who act like they are working. But after 3 days when you come back and ask about why my cheque is not placed. They tell it was lost among files and simply says sorry.




  8. After witnessing all this we shut my mother's account as well in that bank. I highly recommend to avoid IDBI at all cost. Extremely poor service and staff behavior is out of the charts.






After this incident I treid to find if this scene is only with this particular branch or is it with all?


In my surprise I found many other people have suffered by the hands of this bank no matter what branch. I highly suggest not to open account or do any sort business with IDBI Bank.
