I am an IDBI bank customer for last 10 years. I opened an account because they were the only ones who offered a demat facility when it was introduced and my old PSU bank had not even heard about it. The initial years were OK with more than helpful staff. Recently I was "rewarded" as a "preferred bank customer.


I got a personalized check book and what not! I was promised the moon. Slowly the service standards started slipping and now no one is bothered. Their customer service standards are just terrific. You complain and they just do not bother about it! I had no online account for share trading and was happy to join idbaipaisabuilder which linked my account to savings account, and lo behold these guys are worse than their parents! I am stuck with all these accounts getting linked up but guys never ever go near the bank front door!


Then they came up with a Royale Account! I was told that I was a "royal" customer but to upgrade I had to open a NEW account. I refused since it would involve a lot of paper work! After 2 months they said you are "too royale" so go ahead we will give you a royale account without opening a new account! I was made to sign on an application form. Now 6 months down the line there is no royale account! All emails to their customer care team were left unanswered. When I called them they said we thought there was nothing to reply so we did not bother! I then spoke to their Nodal officer Kiran Balwani who said " you have wrong expectations from our bank"!!! We can not provide the services you were promised"


So avoid this bank all costs.
