I had an appalling experience at this gym, one that should serve as a stern warning to potential members. The facility fails miserably in basic hygiene and showcases a blatant disregard for client welfare, making it an absolute nightmare. I was assigned their “most senior personal trainer, ” Shan, by Riyaaz, the gym manager in the Koramangala 4th block center. Despite my explicit request for a trainer knowledgeable about knee injuries, given my struggle with a meniscus tear, what ensued was a series of grossly negligent actions.
During a leg workout session under Shan’s supervision, the warm-ups and essential precautions were completely neglected. This lapse led to a severe lower back injury. As someone not specialized in fitness training, I relied on Shan’s expertise, but instead of ceasing the session immediately, he casually suggested resting and continuing with other exercises. This advice only exacerbated my condition.
The result was a debilitating lumbar sprain diagnosed by my orthopaedic doctor, which caused me excruciating pain for nearly two months. Throughout this ordeal, the trainer Shan and the gym showed an alarming lack of concern and follow-up. Shan didn’t even have the decency to check on my well-being until I prompted him, resulting in a hollow apology.
The gym manager’s response was equally disappointing—offering nothing more than a defensive and diplomatic apology, without taking any concrete action. Moreover, when I escalated the issue to the senior gym management, including Mr. Prashanth (the general manager), they completely ignored my request for just action. In other countries, such negligence would not be tolerated, and accountability would be demanded.
I will take these guys to the consumer court. This level of negligence and indifference is unacceptable. Immediate action must be taken to address these issues, and I strongly advise anyone considering this gym to steer clear.
