This is about the ICICI Future Card, the one for which you get some offers during the initial usage of this card in Big Bazaar. Apart from this you also get some small offers with the Pantaloon, Food bazaar, etc. Among the big bazaar offers, getting 4 points for each Rs100 spent at Big Bazar is also one.
Generally we do not have a tendency to have a check on the points we earn through our purchasing. We assume this to be correct.
Now this time I bothered to check my power points accumulated over this card, expecting this to be a somewhat big no so as to redeem these for a gift voucher somewhere. But to my surprise, it stood totally against my expectation.
The figure I saw is an extremely low number, something which can be said absurd. When I enquired with the customer care, I was told that it has been wrongly updated and they do apologize about it and the same will be corrected. I immediately placed a request to update the same with the customer care executive I was speaking to. And the request was taken gracefully.
After a few days, I again called up at their desk to confirm that the same has been updated. Again to add to my surprise and anger, I was intimated that no complaint has been registered so far for that. On inquiry, I was provided the same answer that it has been wrongly updated and will be corrected soon. I again placed the same request and our executive gracefully accepted. This time I was asked, rather requested, to be on line for a minute. Then this one minute became 2 mins, 5 mins……10 mins, 12 mins…..15 mins, and there was no comeback after that.
After a week, I again called them back, I was told that I am supposed to receive 2 points for Rs 100 spent and the same will be updated soon. Whenever asked for a request or a complaint number, I am always kept waiting for such a long time that….I never receive the same.
I also came to know that since the same has been swiped in an HDFC machine at Big bazaar, one is supposed to receive two points for each Rs 100 spent. This also is not much acceptable.
Last time, after around 2 weeks when I called them again to check the status, I was told that I am supposed to get 1 point for every two hundred bucks spent and that is what I am getting. This made me actually mad……to add to my frustration and agony.
I requested them to transfer the call to their manager. It was not done even after repeated requests. Is this a sheer cheating or there is no existence of a system at all? Is the customer care not aware of the system and the guidelines and the rules?
Why are there differences in the communication? How can such a system be so unreliable? This is embarrassing.
