ICICI Bank --The Bank on the way to moratorium
There are more than one reason for me to caption this brief review on ICICI Bank, routed from 'Review Request' page as a bank on the way to morotorium. I have been one of the account holders in this bank even during its early years, as early as 1999. This gave me an opportunity to witness, the most sincere and true customer care and service, which has undergone steep deterioration and that is currently in shambles as of now.
A few quick issues, in bullet points, about the bad state of the bank are:
1) The individual branches are too heavily carried over by unrealistic targets that they in turn fleece the end-customers to satisfy their higher-ups and to appease their personal wallet-filling requirements.
2) The trend of the branch staff is again carried over by telemarketers who just throw off all NDNC norms to air and vehemently call any caller.
3) Customer Requests are just thrown off from being fulfilled, pulled and pushed from many places spread across dates, literally giving an impression that they only treat customers as cash cows. Nothing more. Nothing less.
4) More recently, I have been trying to reach Chennai Phone Banking numbers. The whole of business hours, it just says 'All lines to the called destination are busy'. When I report to ICICI through Internet Banking, they come out and tell 'We take your feedback'. I am not telling a feedback to them rather it is is a significant complaint from one of the customers. When they can not distinguish between a feedback and a report and when they do not have a good ability to distinguish and prioritise the requests, can we ever trust them to guard our hard-earned money?

I just thought I would also bring to the attention of readers a few more examples which I have shared in my other Wordpress weblog about the callousness of ICICI towards customer welfare. There is another world-class weblog by Arjun Prabhu which has invited great number of comments about the bad attitude of the bank.
