This was the Messgae from the New's paper
New Delhi, March 16: The Supreme Court today posted for final disposal a plea seeking closure of all unrecognised constituent colleges of ICFAI University.
A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan fixed the matter for final hearing after Rishabh Jain, the petitioner, refused to settle the matter out of court.
Counsel P S Singh, appearing for the student, said the university had been running more than 40 institutes all over the country without any recognition from the University Grant Commission (UGC) or AICTE and offering graduate and post-graduate degrees/diplomas in more than 100 streams such BBA, MBA, MCA, B.Com through several IFCAI national college centers (off-campus), study centers and regional centers operating across the country.
"The petitioner is before the court seeking direction for closing down these universities and colleges with immediate effect declaring them as illegal as it is violative of fundamental rights enumerated in the Constitution of India, " said the petition.
Singh alleged ICFAI was giving misleading advertisements, and claimed the university had only recognition from Tripura and Uttarakhand for running only a few certificate courses but had been running around 43 institutes all over the country and more than 20, 000 students were registered with it.
