A poor product indeed. Review on I-mate PDA Smartphone

I bought a i-mate JAMA PDA smart phone through my brother-in-law using his SBI credit card via an online company named deals4all.net. in January 2008. The phone was bought for approximately Rs 7, 000 which seemed like a great bargain to us.

The phone arrived in about 6 weeks. It worked well for exactly 3 weeks after which suddenly one fine morning it stopped catching the network. I have an vodafone and an airtel post-paid SIM card and it wouldnt catch the network on either. Any attempt to make a phone call ended immediately. The PDA functions of the phone worked quite well but NO PHONE CALLS were possible.

I personally handed the phone over to the company office in Laxmi Industrial Estate. I was told that the phone would be repaired and returned in 7-10 days. After waiting for nearly 4 weeks, I called them again and was assured that there was only a problem with the dispatch and the phone was on its way. It finally arrived after 2 more weeks.

Imagine my total surprise when I realized that it was not MY instrument at all. The IMEI number on the phone was completely different so the dealer had conned me and sent me another instrument which had numerous signs of wear and tear. However I expected this instrument to at least work. Work it did, for exactly 2 days after which the same problem started all over again. It would catch the network for a few minutes and then go off.

A pathetic state of affairs related both to the phone model as much as to the fraud committed by the dealer named deals4all.net.

Friends, my sincere warning. do not deal with this company, they are a bunch of cheats. Do not buy this phone model, it is CRAP.
