Value for Money:

I have the PDAL phone from imate for past 6 months. At that time it costed me **Rs 15000** from Ghaffar Market, New Delhi. I had gone to the market with an inclination towards another newly launched and advertised model from imate that was **JAMA**. So naturally I asked about JAMA and shopkeeper promptly showed me that which was costing around Rs 14 k.But along with JAMA he also suggested me PDAL. I didn't showed much interest. But when he brought the cell in front of me; I was amazed.PDA-L is a hell **good looking phone **keeping in mind that it is a touch screen based phone which are usually big and ugly. Not so with PDAL.

PDA-L is a bar shaped phone with **2.4" LCD** which is quite responsive except for a few times when you have to press the sylus real hard. The screen is a **65k colour screen** which is good but there are issues with it under broad sunlight. All budget business phones with touch screens still have a 65k screen. So don't have much options in this range.

Coming to voice quality it is good.Reception is very nice.Multimedia capability is nothing to rave about. It is just mediocre. There is **no FM**.Now coming to the best part for which business phones are meant for that is Internet.**Surfing net **on this phone** is a breeze**.It is **EDGE enabled.**.So good speeds are there.**Internet Explorer** renders the webpages very well and if you have it you don't miss much of your surfing experience.Blog postings, regular mail checking, surfing heavy multimedia sites, etc is no problem.Downloading full screen resolution wallpapers i.e 1024*768 resoluted images is easy and they look as good on the imate screen as that on your CRT monitor.**WiFi **is also inbuilt but I never got any chance to check that.**Battery backup is good **lasting for 2-3 days with moderate use.It is based on **Windows 5.0 edition **which is old as there is newer 6.0 edition but 5.0 is faster than 6.0 so not much problems.

Overall I prefered it over JAMA and HTC P3400 as they were the other options in my range.HTC P3400 has 2.8" screen I think it ought to be good. But stil I am happy with my purchase. One last thing though JAMA claims to have a 2 MP camera. But it is not; infact JAMA has a*** 2.0 MP Effect Camera*** while PDAL has a **full fledged 2 MP camera**.So if pic quality matters to you even then PDAL is a better choice plus it is WIFI and EDGE enabled which JAMA doesn't have. The price diffrence between the two is hardly a few hundred rupees so go for PDAL.

*P.S:-** Fly which is a part of U.K based Meridian group has also launched PDAL with its logo in some parts of world like Russia. They may have a pact with imate in that part of world. It striked me how same phone can be launched by 2 different companies with PDAL remaining same and parent company as Fly and imate.May anybody knows it here.In between Fly has named PDAL as PC100 and given 6.0 Windows with it.Isn't it great?
