Hyundai Creta has 14 versions available in India from which 5 are petrol and 9 are diesel cars. Hyundai Creta comes in 7 colours, namely, Earth Brown , Mystic Blue, Phantom Black, Polar White, Red Passion, Sleek Silver, Star Dust.

The compact SUV segment has been one of the most lucrative segments in the Indian car market and Hyundai has come up with a winner in the Creta. With styling cues from its bigger sibling underlining the Creta, it looks like an SUV. With almost 90 per cent localisation, the Creta is manufactured at the Hyundai’s Chennai-based plant and is also being exported to global markets. The Hyundai Creta has grown in to a brand in itself dislodging most crossovers and SUVs in its segment to make to the top.

The Hyundai Creta is a direct competition to the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the Honda BR-V while it does take on the Mahindra Scorpio and the Tata Safari at its price point. Mileage: -

The 1396 cc Diesel - powered variant delivers a fuel economy of 22 kmpl in city and 24 kmpl on highways, while the Petrol variant offers a mileage of 16 kmpl on urban roads and 18 kmpl and freeways, respectively.

Interiors: -

The Creta looks a lot more premium and contemporary when compared to the competition. The dark themed interiors are complemented well by the bright roof-lining. The Creta has a long list of features like keyless entry, push start and stop, touchscreen in-dash music system with bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation, reverse parking camera, steering mounted audio controls, follow me home headlamps, leather pack, supervision cluster, driver information system, power windows and rear AC vents.

The Hyundai Creta comes with ABS with EBD as a standard feature. There are disc brakes at the front, while the rear has drum brakes. The top-spec SX+ Option gets six airbags ( two at the front, side and even curtain ones) while others get dual front airbags. The Creta has vehicle stability control, then there is hill descent and ESP on the top-of-the-line variant.

Exteriors: -

The Creta has a sporty profile with the roof rails, blacked out window sills, a sloping roof-line with a rear spoiler and the flared wheel arches. While the top-spec car comes with the 17-inch diamond cut alloys, other variants get 16-inch wheels. The wrap around tail lamps are perched high thanks to the raked windshield. The chunky bumper looks sturdy with the black cladding and the bash-plate underneath.

The Hyundai Creta is based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, which is a lot more subtle as compared to the previous generation design. The Creta is the ix25 that has been modified for Indian car market. It gets a large hexagonal front grille with horizontal chrome slats and the projector headlamps have LED daytime running lamps integrated into them.

Engine & Performance: -

The Creta is offered with a 1.6-litre four cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It churns out 122bhp of power at 6400rpm and the maximum torque of 151Nm at 4850rpm. The engine comes mated to six-speed manual gearbox as well as a six speed automatic and drive the front wheels. It also gets two diesel engine options. The first one is the 1.4-litre U2 CRDi that produces about 90bhp of power at 4000rpm and 220Nm of maximum torque at 1500rpm. This is the same engine it shares with the i20 and i20 Active and is offered only in the entry-level diesel Creta. The other diesel engine is 1.6-litre that produces about 126bhp of power at 4000rpm and 259Nm of maximum torque at 1900-2750rpm. Like the petrol, this diesel also comes with similar six-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
