HTC Cell Phone : Softtouch. Review on HTC One X

First I apologize to come back on the circuit after long time; however I wanted to first ensure that I experience the product completely before writing anything about it. Today I would like to write about HTC Cell Phones :

As usual; I would stick to my experience in three phases ; before buying; duing buying and post buying.

Lets start with company :

About HTC :

I am not sure about headquarters of HTC but after having established they have been competing strongly with the major operators. HTC has bagged few major 'firsts'. Now I move on the product; I have purchased HTC Softtouch cell phone almost 2 yeas back and it was ranging in price range between 13000 - 15000.

Experiences :

Before Buying :

1. Good availability of information on the onsite; however no suitable information available on the features especially from India point of view.

   
   




2. Good amount of reviews available.

   
   

During Buying :

1. Unfortunately the sales representatives did not push this cell phone; I was more or less aware about this product so I had to ask for it.

   
   




2. The sales representatives are also not aware of the product featues neither they were explaining the featues.

   
   




3. Stock availability of the color options is also not there.

   
   

If you have made appropirate research and after above points if you finally purchase the cell phone; below portion will be helpful.

Post Buying :

Highlights :

1. The phone is extremelly stable, sleek and light weight.

   
   




2. There are two options power / usb charging.

   
   




3. Windows based phone so it gives you both the options to view + modify (create + edit) ms - office documents.

   
   




4. Fantastic touch sense.

   
   




5. Great value for money.

   
   




6. Orientation towards both business and music functionalities (has 2 music players inbuilt)

   
   




7. Basic / Good Camera functionalites (Don't expect jazzy camera functionalities).

   
   




8. Purposely not naming any other functionalities as they are always available in all phones nower days (bluetooth, infrared, file organizer, messengers, etc, . - name it most of them are there)

   
   




9. Good customer care support; patches are freely available which can be downloaded easily.

   
   




10. A very high ratio on reliability on performance.

    
    

My rating : 4 out of 5 (taking one point only for MS - Office and limited functionality on special softwaes like SAP, P2T etc, .)

Low Lights :

1. MS - Office outlook mobile version is used for messaging; most surprisingly you cannot select multiple contacts in your phone book while sendig the message.

You can send the message to multiple receipeints but you have to choose them one by one. Imagine when I have to send messages during festival season to all well wishers :(

1. The camera does not have flash; this is something which can be easily built I m not sure why its not available.

   
   




2. I lost the phone charger while travelling; basic accessory like charger is steeply highly priced at 1300 rs; also I lost the cover the cover (non - leather) charged at apprx 350 rs. Panel agian is very expensive. I think company is merely inceasing marked for pirated accesories by keeping such high prices :(

   
   




3. Imagine to get both above accessories there are only 2 - 3 centers in a metro city like Mumbai. For people in smaller towns I am not sure about the setup; my suggestion please check if you have a local service centre.

   
   

My Rating : 3 out of 5 (Inspite of limited service network less impact on rating here because the reliability is quite high) .

Overall Rating : 4 out 5.
