Most people start smoking in peer pressure and they feel the urge to smoke when someone is smoking in group. People feel the urge to smoke while drinking too. So the best way to quit smoking is stop hanging out with people who smoke ( atlest while they are smoking) and quit drinking. Stay busy during the hours when you feel the urge to smoke more. Begin use of your NRT if you have chosen to use one. Drink more water and juice. You can join a stop smoking group too, if it's harder for you. Avoid situations wherein you have a strong urge to smoke.
