*THE TALE BEGINS
Once upon a time (this year in the month of May) a girl called Mimi, was given a project work on Commercial Applications by her teacher. But this girl was in the bad habit of delaying things. So when the date of submission drew nearer next month(June) she didn’t know what to do! Well the project was to get some information on television commercials but Mimi couldn’t do it by herself. She wasn’t very intelligent. So she decided to take help from the net…more precisely from google!
And so Mimi went to google.com and searched for advertisements on pepsi. Well she read at least twenty articles from various sites but all were unsuitable. At last she found a thing, which she could write down in her project file. She saw that on the website from where she was reading the article there was an “email this review option” she tried it but some login page came up…Mimi hadn’t time enough for all this, and she didn’t even think of copying it, so like the fool she was and she still is, she closed the page! She didn’t even notice the name of the site because she was in a tensed state…Well next day she coaxed her teacher to give her and some of her friends a little more time and the teacher gave them just two more days! She had to do something quickly so she again went back to google and started searching for the pepsi review she had read the day before and bingo! She found it…this time she saw the website’s name. It was mouthshut.com . This day Mimi thought of copying it but then she remembered that even her friends needed help…So she decided to sign up for the site…What id could she use??? Well of course she gave in her yahoo id cutting out the 2004 from it cause it was now 2006(she hadn’t even time enough to think of a proper id)!!!She successfully signed up and emailed the review on the commercial and emailed some more reviews on other commercials…then she completed her project work and was leading a happy life…when one day(two days later) she found a mail from mouthshut.com in her yahoo inbox…It was from a lady with a flowery name who wanted Mimi to write a review on their site and win a prize!
THE DARK CLOUDS
Mimi was a bit confused! She opened the site…the home page looked cool…she didn’t know what she was supposed to do but as she had ample time she decided to look up everything she could find here…and oh my! There were reviews even on books and movies and serials. So this is not only a site where you search for TV commercials! Mimi loved books…so she clicked on “books” and there she found that there were reviews on many books…At the time she was reading Hard Times and she adored Dickens’s works, so she checked some reviews on “A Tale of Two Cities” and yes they were good but she felt that even she could write something on this book. She saw that there was an “write your own review” option and she clicked on it. She wrote what she was capable of writing and then published it…She made her whole family read it , they praised her and then the next day she wrote one more review on another book and then on another...finally Mimi closed the website again.
Well after a week she opened her mailbox and wow! it was flooding with mails from Mouthshut.com. She checked some with subjects like “review reading and rating alert” but couldn’t understand what they meant…there was a mail where it was written that there was an M2M in her mouthshut inbox and she clicked on the option given to read it now!
The M2M was from a fellow member congratulating her for making it to the best debut section. Now Mimi thought “ what’s all this? Best Debut? Do I get an award for that?” Then she clicked on the review option and there she saw her review with an “overall rating: very useful”…Oh yes her first ever write-up…she clicked on her review and read it and saw that some people rated it VU, some U and some SU…oh she got to understand that these were also members of this site and there were also comments on her review…well she read the comments but didn’t know what to do…she went to the home page and clicked on almost everything she found there and got to know what mouthshut.com was about and she even found the best debut section and saw her id there…she was over-flowing with happiness…
*THE SILVER LINING
Mimi read some more book reviews and saw that most people replied back to the comments on their own reviews.She rated some reviews as well, commented on them and she kept on doing all this till it was midnight. Next day again she came back and did some more book-review reading and decided to comment back on her own review-comments. Well she saw that some members called have added her to their trust list…she again got a new lesson about what this TL was from these members…Then she had some more mails in her MS inbox where they thanked her for rating their reviews and she felt so happy!!!
Now she had completed reading Hard Times that day so she wrote another review on that and the next day she saw that it got a “100%VU rating”(it remained that way for a long time until a certain member started rating all her reviews SU)…and she kept on reading, writing, rating and commenting on reviews…Slowly she made many friends who are very supportive and she also met a certain person who was awfully rude and indecent… she reported it to Faisal(the CEO) and Jasmine who took care of that and responded almost immediately and Mimi is obliged to them!
THE LAND OF ETERNAL BLISS
Mimi’s mouthshut-ing experience have not been a long one yet MS has become almost a part of her life. She is badly addicted to this site and she can’t help coming back to the site even though she is trying her best to get detached from it’s addiction! Mouthshut is a good platform where you can express your views, get to know other people’s views, you come to know your talents a little better and the best thing is this is a site where you can make loads of friends.
And so Mimi , Mouthshut and all the MSians lived happily ever-after(or so I hope)!
P.S: Well the story was a long one but recently I got over-influenced by fairy-tales!!!
