I visited Coorg last year during monsoon. It was a great time I feel to visit this place and experience and witness the beauty of nature from so close. I visited Lake Nahargarh during this period and simply fell in awe of the beauty and charm of this place. I took a bus from Madikeri which took me to Somwarpeth area. From Somewarpeth, Lake Honamma is about 7 kns walk. It is a very clear road, so there is no chance of getting lost.
Enroute, I was accompanied by the nearby village kids, who also became my guide on the tour. It was fun. The lake is surrounded by Gavi betta and Pandavara Betta. A short climb on a hill take you to Gavi Betta, and trekkers or nature lovers will fall in love with this place. Full of greenery, cool air, freshness that grips you so tight and leaves you speechless – this place is must visit if you are in Coorg anytime!
