Not good for the rear seat passenger. Review on Honda Shine

*Comfort:

I do not own any Honda shine, but my brother has. I will write my experience as a rear passenger. As such, I never had comfortable ride on the rear seat. I have developed a severe pain in the vertebral column. The Honda has concentrated  on the driver's ergonomics and not at all for the rear seat passenger. Comparatively, bajaj and splendor has more comfort for the rear passenger, better posture and soft ride.

I rode the bike only once. It is not difficult to ride. It was first time in my life that I ever rode a bike. Ergonomics for the driver is comfortable.

Engine:

a.) Reliability: The bike is one year old. Till now, we never faced any minor or major problems with the engine.

b.) Start - up: My brother's is only kick - start. He was almost the first one to buy this product  in Bangalore. At that time, the self-start option had not come. If you do not use the bike for a week, you will struggle a lot to start the engine. After 7 - 8 kicks only.

Under normal use, we never faced any starting problem. Maximum at the third kick we had the engine on.

c.)sound: The engine is much more silent compared to other bikes. Sometimes, I never know whether it is on or off

d.)pick - up: Good. It catches up 70 kph to 80 kph  within few seconds. But I never felt comfortable at such great speeds.

e.) Maintenance cost: As far now, we never spent any sum on this bike except petrol, engine-oil and price during servicing.

f.) Mileage: Honda has been very honest here. They say, under ideal conditions, the mileage should be 65 kpl. And we are getting 60 kpl in city! Unlike high approximations of bajaj, the honda has been very correct about their calculations.

*Body shape & finishing:

a.) Shape: Looks better than any other bikes (except honda unicorn).

b.) Color finishing: Good, but not excellent.

Safety:

I never feel safe on any bike. Therefore, I bought a car. Not only because of safety reason, but also due to my bach pain which gets aggravated if I sit on the bike anytime.

My recommendation:

You can buy this product for its engine efficiency, good looks, low maintenance cost and if and only if you are going to use it only for yourself and not for your spouse or children who shall have to withstand the rear seat super comfort.

Service:

Servicing depends from place to place. If it is bad here, it may be good at your place. So, no comments.
