Honda Makes a variety of Portable Gensets.The range starts from 350W to 5500W. All Honda portable Gensets are single phaze means provide output of 220 Volts and 50Hz.

Honda Motor Japan is the second largest engine manufacturer of the world. and in India they manufacture them having 67% stake in a joint venture with Sri ram Group, on the name of Honda Siel Power Products Limited(HSPP).In india they are engaged in the manufacturing of Portable Generators, Water Pumping Sets and General Purpose Engines at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Greater Noida, Rudrapur and Pondicherry.

Rated Output:- 450VA( or 450 watts)

In case of Honda portable gensets the VA= watt.( For example A ceiling fan consumes 70W, a bulb can be 15W, 40W, 60 W or 100W, a CFL can be 9W, 18 W or so .)

Rated output means the genset is design to deliver best perfomance upto this output. The fuel economy and life of the genset is best when it runs on this load or less than that .

Maximum Output:- 550VA or 550W

This is the max out put this gentset can deliver. The genset will not run more than this limit, it will shut down autimatically showing overload.

LOAD:- Load means the total no. of equipments, you can use on this Genset. To understand that if u have tublights of 60W each u can run 10 nos of tubes easily. or 5 tubelights and 4 ceiling fans or u can calculate as per the equipments u want to use. the total load should not be more than Maximum output

Fuel Economy:-EM650 purely runs on the Petrol. On the Rated output it consumes 460ml of petrol per hour. No other fuel can be used in place of petrol and please never try that too.

Weight:- The dry weight of genset is 22KGs

Circuit Breaker:- This is a facility to save your gensett's engine from any problem due to overload or less oil in the engine. If the total output you are using increases more than the capacity of genset it will automatically shut down. The circuit breaker switch turns off automatically too.

OIl alert:- The 4 stroke engine uses Engine oil. Due to longer running or negligence of proper mantainence, oil level inside the engine goes down below the specified level, the oil alert will indicate you and genset will not start. it will turn off the circuit breaker switch.

This genset have a special feature of DC output it can charge a battery too.

EM650is a genset which is the most beautifully designed model in all the honda portable genset series. It is handy and completely covered. the sound of EM650 is the lowest in comparison to the same output gensets.The handle on the top of the genset makes it easy to pick up and travel along in your car.

The drawback with this model is the fuel itself. Due to the heavy price of petrol it is not economic to use it for a family. Although honda also manufacture same output models with different fuel which are more economic for a family. I will talk about them too as soon as Mouthshut adds them to the product list.
