I bought a Civic from Arya Honda almost exactly 1 year ago. I went into their showroom in Worli meaning to buy a City but I simply fell in love with the looks of the Civic. The interiors were extremely comfortable and the dashboard amazingly futuristic looking. A 10 minute test drive later, I was head-over-heels smitten. My one concern was the fuel consumption in city driving and the low clearance given the many potholes and speedbreakers in Mumbai.
I was given delivery on the promised date and the love affair took off. To my amazement and delight, the petrol consumption was a consistent 10-10.5 per litre in city driving conditions and I mean almost constant gear changes, speed alterations and traffic jams. My first few drives on the expressway and to Karjat gave me an incredible 12-13 km/lit, I am not kidding.
The ground clearance is not great but provided I am careful I dont bump the bottom at all in potholes. Perhaps this has something to do with the more than adequately balanced suspension.
The pick-up is great too though not as good as some other cars but definitely superior to a corolla, lancer or an optra.
My one complaint is quite minor and that has to be with the blindspot on the windscreen due to the vertical bar of the frame on the right hand corner. I have to peek around it to make sure I am not missing someone standing or crossing in that area.
Friends, if you are looking for a great-looking luxury segment car with pizzazz and whiz, go for the Civic, you wont regret it. Make sure you dont mind the envious looks all around while you zoom around in this beauty.
