I bought this new Honday city exclusive on Oct 7th 2011 and got it fueled to full tank at 13 kms odo reading- petrol added was 34.09 litres @ Rs. 2400.28 Drove it mostly in the city conditions(not exceeding 60 kmph at all) with AC on all times and refueled it again at 324 kms odometer reading- petrol added was 32.5 litres @ Rs 2350.08.

Surprisingly the fuel effeciency is alarmingly low- ONLY 9.66 kmpl!

I don't understand, how it can give 14.67 kmpl on ideal conditions, that the dealers and the company guarantee? Under ideal conditions too, the differene between fuel economy for an automatic transmission(AT) and manual transmission(MT) is just 1 kmpl.

I want to know from those who have recently purchased and drive MT versions of this car, are you getting just 10.6 kmpl on road with AC in city/traffic conditions?

So keep in mind- automatic is the best drive, honda is the best car by existence- but keep in mind, 9.7 kmpl with anticipated fuel hikes(and the goverment and oil company equation till next election), you ought to stop and re-look at the mileage!
