Honey! Life with its all sweetness tempts us to have it. It has life no death. Honey is the Amruthu, God has given to living kind, through its hard hitting angels, bees.

It is a fasting time for Muslims and living in a Muslim country forced me to take a different diet pattern for this Ramadan, like many other. I decided I will not go the normal way where they eat at night and early morning and fast at day. So, I take my lunch normally, but for breakfast and supper I have a same pattern. 4 or 5 dates and 2 spoons of honey! And never get tired instead feel more refreshed!! I was wondering why but not before realizing that I am taking two items together which generates a lot of calories third to none. Dates and Honey!

Health benefits of honey are well known. Unlike milk, honey doesn't feed bacteria but it mute or destroy them. It is a good ailment for eye sight, it has a power to heal wounds and used in surgery in ancient times. Honey helps to cure respiratory disorders, cough, allergic conditions and aging It is good for memory recovery and maintaining body balance. It can be a supplementary treatment for infertility.

Honey is a carbohydrate compound which effectively generates heat, create and replace energy and helps in forming certain tissues. It is a best preserver of organic matters. It can be used in place of salt for storing meat and fish but the availability doesn't make a better option. It generates enzymes. It also help the body to maintain the oxidation process intact. Daily use of honey ensures a long life without doubt where it supplements other food and makes sure supply of vital minerals and carbohydrate. Invert sugar & Surcrose are the main supply from honey we can get along with a lot of chemical substances, like Phosphoric acid, Iron, Manganese, Chlorine, Calcium, Silicates, Magnesium, Potassium and Sodium. Any good neuro specialist will advise you about the importance of Sodium and Potassium in human body to maintain the balance and memory. Any gynecologist will tell the importance of magnesium in female body to generate the motherly qualities. Any dietician will tell you about the Honey's quality to reduce cholesterol.

There are a lot of brands available for Honey. Getting original honey is a hard task. During my academic years, we had a camp organised among tribals where we found they collect honey from wild and trade it for a bottle of liquor at the end of the day. I also saw one in the Creek area of Dubai and wondered from where these bees are bringing madhu but my respect to them increased for flying in these extreme heat and collect it bit by bit. Did you ever saw a bee home? Try to reach to it and you know how easy to get it....and that is the risk the collector has to endure. Then, do you watch the bees roam around flower by flower and bring home the minute drops of Madhu and ever wonder the effort it takes them to generate a considerable quantity of honey? It is nature's thought and wonder in work there. The plant gets the best of minerals from the soil to its flower to help the reproduction system and takes the help of a bee. The flower gives part of his existence to the bee and the bee finds, collects and saves it for ever. When I consume honey I should thank the plants and bees with a sorry, but like Kahlil Gibran, I would like to say, oh beautiful flower, wise bee, you live though me, be part of me.

This takes me to the arrival of Himalaya Honey, which is said to be collected from the heights of Himalaya forests and filter it with the advanced scientific processes. The product claims that it does not add any sugar or preservatives where the honey in itself is sugar and a preservative. It is claimed to be uncontaminated and pure.

I found the taste of the honey truly good. I tried a Pakistani mountain honey earlier and few other brands, but this one really tastes good. However, how I can be sure of the purity and the fact of non contamination? Let the food specialists and chemists do that.

A deed may be judged by its action and with Himalayan Forest Honey, the product is ok, but it is not outstanding. By taste and purity it is quite good. Then, the feel of it is not the same as that I used to get from the natural honey I used to consume once in a blue moon when I get it directly from the honey collectors.

Wait a minute! Honey is only good as the soil in which the flower plants are grown. If the land is short of minerals, the flowers cannot possess it and the bees cannot have it. It also depends on the climate. Honey collected from hot places is different from the one collected from hill stations. Honey collected from dry season is different from rainy season. On this account, Himalayan forest honey lacks the preciousness of the dry summer honey (My assumption, based on the life principle that when you pressurise, you get the best and when you freeze it life sleeps). Antioxidation quality of summer honey is lacking in this winter honey. Winter lovers may like the honey more!!

Despite its negatives, the regular use of Himalaya filled me with lot of energy and health which even helped me to reduce my sleeping hours by one and don't feel sleepy which is not natural for a sleep loving person like me. And, am I feeling young? I think yes! (Lol!!) Though I don't like winters Himalaya is one winter wonder I love to like. So, Honey, why are you waiting for? Be my part today and every day!!!
