So I visited this small place in Galleria Mall, Powai. A friend suggested me this place so gave it a try. It is supposedly a new pizza joint but shows lots of options, variety and finesse.
The thing I liked about this place is that how it is inspired largely by American pizza places, their different variety, their style.
Also they don't hold back on toppings, so that's a plus plus in my books. People on diet can opt for thin crust, that's the only option available for you.
So far I have visited this place three times in a month and it has always been easy on my wallet and heavy on my stomach. With its ridiculous amount of toppings, huge portions, different types of crusts I guarantee, you can't stop coming back.
Also there's a food challenge going on. Eat a king size pizza+ garlic bread+ a drink in an hour and you'll get your picture put up in hall of fame plus one year( one pizza a month) of free pizzas, if you don't then you have to pay the bill. I so wanted such challenges to be in India( yes I watch man vs food a lot: -p). Some may think of it as a marketing gimmick which seems to be working for them. I have witnessed numerous people taking up the challenge but none has succeeded yet.
Up till now I have tried godfather, pepperoni, death by bacon, magic of mushrooms and the chicken club( don't judge me, I'm just gearing up for the challenge) and honestly I can't rate which one is the best, but if I have to I would go for godfather cause of the ridiculous amount of toppings in that( Indian mentality: -D). It has three different types of chicken - sausage, salami and ham, some vegetable toppings and comes dressed with mayonnaise, add some barbecue sauce on the top. it's a treat for your taste buds. The base sauce or the pizza sauce is great, adds quality to the pizza. Apparently, the ridiculous amount of topping that came with the pizza wasn't enough for them. At an extra cost, you can add more toppings. But I doubt you'll want to.
There are three different sizes available - regular, large and king size. You can order based on the group size and your appetite. I ordered the king size every time. Each slice is as big as a regular pizza. A person with an appetite like mine can easily eat half a king size along with a side order and a coke while my friend, who accompanied me, could eat only one slice with coke and the side-order.
For people who don't like pizzas they also have the usual garlic bread, chicken wings etc. Apart from that, they offer Puccias( poo Chas) and poutine. Have tried crispy chicken poutine - crispy succulent chunks of chicken mixed with french fries, lettuce, olives and jalapenos and cheese on top. Its definitely worth a try. Recommended to those who love chicken, cheese and fries. For the love of junk food, do not miss this. I saw them prepare puccias which looks like a damn delicious sub and I had my stomach already asking for it. Therefore I decided that the next time I visit the place I have to order a puccia. I've savored all of the above mentioned pizzas in thin crust, have three more crust styles to experiment with and some pizzas still left on the menu.
About the cost: On my latest visit, my friends and I ordered a King-size magic of mushrooms and Godfather, regular size death by bacon, crispy chicken poutine, a thums up and a sprite. This lavish feast cost us Rs. 1200 i.e. Rs. 300 per head, not bad at all. I would call it economical.
Only downside would be they take time to make pizzas. I would suggest order your pizzas before you reach there. The ambience isn't that great cause you're sitting in a food court. Best bet is home delivery.
Overall I would Rate them 8/10 for their different approach, pricing, varieties, challenge concept and taste. Such pizza joints are way better than domino's and pizza hut where all you get is a thick crust in the name of a pizza. Do give it a try!
