I bought this vehicle at the end of 2007 and have been using till now. Though I am passionate about the machos like pulsars and CBZs, by considering the daily usage I opted Splendor plus. I am an office goer and would cover ten plus ten kms daily amidst of chennai traffic for which I thought machos aren't necessary.
Also before buying this vehicle I was advised enough by my friends about the legendary mileage of splendors on road.
But immediately after covering first few hundred kilometers I had to go to the dealer with panic coz' I got only 40 kms/lit as an average which is too. too low for a splendor. There I could see few more customers compaining about the same point and emphasised that they chose this vehicle only for mileage!
Although the service guy convinced us that the mileage will improve after 1000 kms I could see the improvement only after 3000 kms.(Now it gives me 50+ in city and 60+ in highways)
But my main concern is if I take this vehicle in a highway and even if I touch an average speed of 60kms/hr the vehicle gives me a unsafe feel due to the thinner tyres. Is it really advisable to go for wider tyres with alloys.will it affect the fuel economy & pick-up.? Can anybody suggest about this.?
