Hi. The Hero Honda Passion is a bike that has been around for several years now. Sharing the same mechanicals as the Hero honda Splendor only the Passion is much bigger and better. It has a horizontally mounted 4-stroke engine, a four speed gearbox. The 97cc 7.5 bhp engine is a tried and trusted engine that first came into the market on the CD100 and the HH Sleek which is no longer produced.
Smooth and refined, its a decent city performer, giving one enough grunt to stay afloat in traffic and return good mileage figures too. I remember reading about the Passion beating the splendor in terms of mileage and returning a phenomenal 97 kmpl. Expect to get about 55-60 atleast on this bike in the city. It will increase on the highway to about 70. The Passion has a top speed of about 85 kmph, actual not speedo indicated, so those lookin at burning up the roads stay away.
Styling, Well the Passion looks better than the splendor any day but still some people prefer the latter. Compared to other models in the same segment, The passion though old but still is a good looking bike. The front is tastefully done up and the huge real light looks real good at night especially. Now on the Plus model HH(Hero Honda) is offering a rear grab rail similar to the CBZ rather than the old chromed piece, which makes it look even better.
The addition of a front disc brake has done wonders to the braking performance of this bike, which was previously its only gripe. There is a tool/storage box right above the engine which actually comes real handy for storing stuff and documents etc.
The ride quality of this bike is much better, giving it a feel of a much bigger bike, with the right amount of performance one need from a city commuter. Not too harsh on the back either.
A good bike for people who have to commute long distances daily and want a hassle free and easy to maintain bike, with a level of style also.
Another advantage one has is the good resale value the bike holds, as the Passion and Splendor dominate the sale charts every month in the 100 cc segment, especially with the Plus models being launched, not much has changed in them, but sales have still risen.
Hope my view will be of some help.
