Hello friends, Hero Honda also launched a new Hunk a few months back along with a new ad which features the punch line. Me and my brother both are bike fanatics, both have different perception being a biker. He is obsessed with the bike looks and speed, while I rely on mileage and durability. After a long research and reading lots of different reviews, thanks to MouthShut_Official, my brother opted for new Hero Honda Hunk and I have a Unicorn. Hunk is no less than a Jumbo Jet, so huge, a good combination of looks and a moderate speed. Hunk’s new looks and scarcity makes it unique, also draws people attention on road and makes them give a second glance. One day I have decided to ride this bike for the whole day after taking my brother’s permission and compare it with my Unicorn.
After driving it for the whole day, I can say this bike is an enjoyment to ride Rajeev_Vermacially for a long distance and very good for highways than that in the city and traffics.
Comfort for the Rider and Pillion
Comfort for the rider is amazing Rajeev_Vermacially for a tall person like me. I’ve never had any problem as such though I get back pains usually only when I ride after playing or a tiring day. The Nitrox GRS (Gas Reservoir Suspension) offers good suspensions in the rear. Carrying heavy pillion on this bull is no worry at all, also doesn’t make any difference manoeuvring. While Mono suspension is excellent in unicorn, but to drive smoothly carrying heavy pillion than the driver is where you notice the difference. For the comfort of the Rider and a Pillion I give this bull --9/10.
Mileage*
HHH gives decent mileage around 45 – 48 Kmpl before first service and in mixed conditions. After completing 3000 km this bike tends to give around 50 – 52 kmpl if not driven harshly. One should maintain the RPM below 4k until first service at every gear shift to get good mileage; this will apparently take care of the speed and will not cross 50 kmph at 5TH Gear. New engine contains some metal dust like particles which is released while engine metals rub at each other when it starts. Factory filled oil turns out to be black and thick, you should notice when it is removed. Therefore it is advised to take care of the speed before first service.
Service and Maintenance
Hero Honda bikes are very durable; I remember my friend’s father maintained HH CD 100 for 21 years now. Its and achievement for any bike, but even durable bikes needs servicing. Like Honda even Hero Honda service people are famous for their evil reputation. They complete servicing of one bike in less than few minutes, to deal with more than 200 bikes in a day is not easy, in a hurry sometimes miss changing engine oil. This is not only the case with Honda or HH service station but also cases are similar with all the service stations. After completing free services switching on to local mechanic is a better option. HHH is undoubtedly one of the best 150 cc bikes around however regular servicing can enhance its performance and efficiency.
Engine and Fuel Tank of New Hero Honda Hunk
New Hunk’s engine is same as the X-Treme’s 4 stroke 150cc engine. It develops 14bhp at 8500rpm of power and 12.8Nm of Torque. Hunk’s 150cc engine is mated with a conventional 5speed gearbox. Similar to the TVS CVTi engine the Hunk’s 150cc engine produces tumble induction for efficient burning which means more efficiency. The fuel tank in Hunk can hold 12.4 litres of petrol with a reserve capacity of 2.2 litres which is ideal for a 150cc bike.
Gearbox
When it comes to the gearbox, the 5 speed gearbox is not as slicker and sharper like the Unicorn. There was this issue in the previous Hunk as well. Though it’s not irritating to use it, Hero Honda engineers could have worked on it a little more. But still, it’s fine.
Durability
Well actually I can’t say much on this part of a bike but I guess HH produces the most durable bikes. Yes more than any other company and I really don’t like the HH service people. But frankly speaking I didn’t need them also too much because there haven’t been any problems as such.

@.@ Which Bike Should we go for HHH or Unicorn?
Guys it totally depends on your need and conditions, both bikes are gem of the Indian 150 cc bikes. In my opinion if you need a total commuter you should go for Unicorn for its reliability, mileage, durability plus Honda’s brand name, that doesn’t mean HHH is not reliable or fuel efficient or durable. If you need something different and wanna be Unique on road you should opt for HHH Rajeev_Vermacially in military green color that is rarely seen. Taking suggestion from one or two is good, else suggestion converts into confusion. You always ask your self what you need and then go for it.
