I have an account with hdfc bank and one of their offering was an auto insurance for my car with a slightly cheaper premium quotation than the current company I was with.
I felt it would be better and went ahead with it.
When the insurance policy reached I was shocked to see the idv value was way lower than what was written on the other companies renewal letter. I went over to their office and they asked me to pay some more amount to up the idv value. Clueless and helpless I did that.
Cashless insurance claim was slightly slower but was hassle free.
On my next renewal the letter was sent and I made the cheque and went over to the office, two days later their staff calls up and asks for more money, He said the service tax has been increased so the premium is higher, I asked him to send my cheque back and also send me the letter with revised premium, the person asked me to come with the difference amount on cheque, I refused, neither did he give a proper renewal letter like what came in the mail.
