This review is especially dedicated to mouthshut member 'gretrandukkar' and all the others who desperately wanted a topic on ‘Daniel Radcliff’. I hope I can satisfy your hungry minds.

To begin with Daniel’s official name is Daniel Jacob Radcliff, nick named as ‘Dan’ was born on 23rd July 1989 in Fulham a suburb in London. From the very young age Daniel showed immense interest in acting, although he was limited to playing a monkey in a school production. Daniel didn’t leave down his determination even when he missed to take part in an audition for the TV series of Charles Dickens’ ‘Oliver Twist’. Daniel’s parents thought that acting wasn’t Daniel’s cup of tea but soon enough he proved his talents worthy when he made himself through the auditions of yet another Dickens TV series of David Copperfield. Thus his debut on the small screen finally turned out to be a reality giving him a chance to work with Maggie Smith and Bob Hokins in December 1999. This was followed by playing Mark Pendel in the ‘Tailor of Panama’ in March 2001, a very unnoticeable character.

It was then when there was a ‘Talent Search’ in UK hunting for the right person to portray the ever loved character of ‘Harry Potter’. Chris Columbus says that it was the “charm and simplicity” of Daniel that attracted him the most and gave him the assurance that he is the one apt to bring in life to the successful literary character. By August 2001, the castings of Daniel Radcliff, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson into the lead roles were publicly declared. The production for ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s (Sorcerer’s) Stone’ started on September 2001 and was released on 16th November 2001 turning out to be the second highest grossing film of all time, behind Titanic. And thus the ‘Daniel – The Star’ was born.

The second series of J.K.Rowling’s, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ was 15th November 2002. History repeated itself and it turned out to be a bigger hit than the previous movie. ‘The Prisoner of Azkaban was released on 4th June 2004 winning praise from the critics for the best Harry movie ever though the directed by Alfonso Curon. The 4th movie, ‘Goblet of Fire’ was released on 18th November 2005, bringing out success as usual and predicted.

His forth coming movies are ‘Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix’ and ‘December Boys’ due to be released by the near end of 2006. In ‘December Boys’ he plays the role of one of the orphaned boys named Map. The awaiting spice of the movie is that Daniel has his first onscreen ‘kiss’ with costar Teresa Palmer.

Daniel attends an all-boys school in Fulham when not filming. He is the proud owner of two dogs,

Binka and Nugget. Apart from movies Daniel has also staged the theatre for ‘The Play What I wrote’ in November 2002.

Let’s wish this bright new teen to be able to sparkle miracles into new characters to satisfy his inquisitive audience worldwide.
